The Rainger FX Razor Fuzz is a bold, gated fuzz pedal with a twist — it pairs thick, spitty analogue fuzz with a built-in digital ‘virtual plectrum’ feature that adds a sharp, rhythmic attack to your playing. It’s designed to be fun, full of character, and unlike anything else on your board.
The fuzz circuit is fully analogue and original to Rainger FX. It delivers lively, high-gain tones with cutting highs and heavy, sometimes oversized lows. An ‘extra’ switch boosts the gain further, adds more midrange, and tightens up the low end. The fuzz is always active when the pedal is on, and despite the high gain, it stays surprisingly quiet when you’re not playing.
What makes the Razor Fuzz stand out is the virtual plectrum section. Choose from four digital modes that respond to your picking and add extra texture or impact. ‘Sandpaper’ adds a scraping attack to chords and notes. ‘Metal’ creates a kind of artificial pinch harmonic, while ‘Metal Long’ brings a looser, ring-mod-like sound. ‘1-Note’ adds a single tunable note on top of what you play — like a pedal tone or root harmony.
