The Vintage Instrument Workshop Warranties

At No.Tom Guitars, we take pride in the exceptional quality and structural integrity of our gear. To give you complete peace of mind, every instrument we sell (whether brand new, pre-owned, or vintage) is fully backed by our comprehensive in-house Workshop warranty framework.

Our Core Warranty Tiers

The length of your standard warranty coverage is determined automatically by the purchase price of your instrument:

  • Instruments up to £1,000.00: Covered by a 1-Year Warranty.

  • Instruments from £1,000.01 and above: Covered by an extended 2-Year Warranty.

Want even more protection?

At the time of purchase, you have the contractual option to extend your structural warranty coverage for up to a maximum of 5 years total. The price for this additional security is calculated at 9.5% of the instrument's purchase price per additional year (capped at a maximum of £450 per year).

Annual Free Workshop Care

We don't just protect your instrument against faults; we want to keep it playing perfectly. In addition to our standard repair guarantees, every guitar purchase includes one free use of The Workshop per year for the duration of your warranty.

This can be used for:

  • A professional instrument setup or seasonal adjustment.

  • A full structural and electronic health check and service.

  • No-fault minor workshop repairs.

Not Local to London? If you live outside the capital but want to take advantage of our workshop care or need to submit a warranty claim, we will happily arrange secure collection and courier shipping of the instrument to our Denmark Street workshop entirely at your expense. Amplifiers and Effects Pedals

  • Brand New Effects & Amplifiers: Covered by a full 1-year manufacturer’s warranty (or extended manufacturer terms where specified).

  • Pre-Owned & Vintage Amplifiers and Pedals: Covered by a 3-Month Warranty handled through our specialist workshop team, unless explicitly sold "as-is" or marked otherwise at the point of sale.

  • Vacuum Tubes (Valves): Because amplifier valves are highly volatile, perishable items subject to natural wear, they carry a dedicated 90-day warranty.

Warranty Limitations

Our warranty is designed to cover genuine hardware, electronic, and manufacturing component failures under normal use conditions. It includes free structural repair labour by our expert in-house luthiers but excludes the raw cost of elective modification parts or shipping fees.

Claims will be evaluated on-site by our workshop team and may be denied under the following circumstances:

  • Environmental Neglect or Misuse: Damage resulting from drops, accidents, or exposure to improper storage conditions (such as extreme temperatures or inadequate humidity control).

  • Unauthorised Alterations: Any external repairs, modifications, or wiring changes carried out by a third-party technician or luthier other than our authorized No.Tom team will immediately void the warranty.

  • Standard Wear and Tear: Natural "consumable" wear that occurs through regular play is not covered. This includes strings, fret wear, nuts, bridge saddles, and the cosmetic finish checking common on vintage nitrocellulose instruments.
