Named after the company's founding father, Orville H. Gibson, the Orville brand was established in the late 1980s as Gibson’s official, licensed division for the Japanese domestic market. Built to exacting Gibson specifications by Japan's elite luthiers at the famed FujiGen factory, these guitars are highly sought after today for their exceptional build quality, authentic headstock shapes, and unmistakable vintage mojo. This 1996 Les Paul Standard is a great example, sporting a rare Quilt Maple top.

Constructed with the classic ingredients that defined rock history, this guitar features a solid Mahogany body and a set Mahogany neck. The gorgeous Quilt Maple top gives this guitar a striking, boutique aesthetic, elevating it far beyond a standard finish.

Sonically, this Orville is a powerhouse. It is equipped with a pair of original Japanese-voiced humbuckers that deliver everything you want from a great Les Paul: a thick, fat low-end, a punchy, vocal midrange, and a sweet, singing sustain when pushed into overdrive. It responds beautifully to player dynamics, cleaning up gracefully with a roll of the volume pot.

This 1996 example is in good vintage condition. It shows some signs of players wear consistent with its age. As with all vintage instruments, this 1960 Gibson ES-330 has been given a full service and appraisal by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
