Greco established itself during the 1960s and 1970s as one of Japan’s leading guitar manufacturers, becoming particularly well known for producing high quality interpretations of classic American designs. By the late 1970s, instruments from the renowned FujiGen Gakki factory had developed a reputation for excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail, helping to cement Greco’s place among the most respected names of the Japanese guitar boom.
This 1978 Greco EG600 is a striking interpretation of the three pickup Les Paul Custom, finished in black with gold hardware and traditional Custom style appointments throughout. Built with a mahogany body and neck, the guitar features a bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays, multi ply body binding, and an open book style headstock. A trio of original Maxon humbuckers provide a wide range of tonal options, closely capturing the look and character of the multi pickup Les Paul Customs that inspired the model.
This guitar is in good condition overall, showing plenty of honest play wear, particularly to the rear of the body where regular use over the years has left noticeable signs of wear. Aside from this cosmetic ageing, the guitar remains original throughout and is free from repairs or structural issues.
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
