The Fender Jazz Bass debuted in 1960 as Fender’s top of the line bass model, designed alongside the Jazzmaster and intended to offer players a sleeker, more versatile alternative to the Precision Bass. With its offset body shape, dual single coil pickup configuration, and slimmer neck profile, the Jazz Bass quickly became a favourite among touring and session musicians alike, remaining one of the most widely used electric bass designs ever produced.

This 1974 Fender Jazz Bass is a rarer left handed example, finished in Sunburst with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Built with the classic alder body and maple neck combination associated with the model, it retains the comfortable feel and articulate response that made the Jazz Bass such a success throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The dual single coil pickup configuration offers the bright, growling tonal character the model is known for, with a wide range of usable sounds available through the independent volume and tone controls.

This bass is presented in very good condition overall, with honest signs of age and use consistent with a well cared for vintage instrument. The potentiometers date to the 33rd week of 1973 (137 7333), while the bridge pickup has been professionally rewound at some stage in its life. The original bridge has also been replaced with a Badass bridge upgrade, a common modification intended to improve sustain and stability.
