Introduced in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird quickly became one of the company’s most recognisable square shouldered acoustics, known for its warm voice, ornate styling, and strong presence in both studio and stage settings. This 1973 example is a special one, it reflects the construction and tonal character of a late 60's production, offering the rich, rounded sound associated with vintage Hummingbirds.

Built with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, it delivers the warm low end and balanced midrange the model is known for, with a clear but mellow top end.

Typical period specifications include the fixed rosewood bridge used throughout the 1970s, Grover tuners, double parallelogram fingerboard inlays, and the distinctive engraved Hummingbird pickguard.

This guitar is in very good condition with light cosmetic wear consistent with age. It is both internally and externally original and free from any repairs, and includes a flight case.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
