Introduced in 1972, the Fender Telecaster Deluxe represented a bold new direction for the Telecaster, pairing the familiar solidbody design with a pair of Seth Lover designed Wide Range Humbuckers. Created to compete with the growing popularity of Gibson's humbucker equipped models, the Deluxe delivered a fuller, more powerful sound while retaining the clarity and articulation that made Fender guitars so distinctive. As the top of the Telecaster range during the 1970s, it has since become one of the most desirable vintage Fender models amongst players and collectors alike.

This 1973 Fender Telecaster Deluxe is finished in classic Mocha Brown and comes complete with its original hard case and original hang tag. Featuring the desirable slab ash body, three bolt neck construction and large Stratocaster style headstock characteristic of the period, it remains remarkably original throughout. The original Seth Lover designed Wide Range Humbuckers are both present and deliver the unique blend of warmth, punch and Fender clarity for which these pickups are renowned. The only changes are a replaced ground wire running from the selector switch to the output jack and the addition of shielding foil within the control cavities, neither of which affects the originality or performance of the instrument.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
