A timeless example of Martin’s legendary dreadnought design, this 1972 Martin D-18 delivers the powerful, woody voice that has made the model a cornerstone of acoustic music for generations.
Built in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, this guitar features the classic solid Sitka spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, a tonewood combination celebrated for its direct, articulate sound and strong midrange presence. Compared to rosewood-bodied dreadnoughts, the D-18 offers a focused low end and exceptional note definition.
This particular 72 D-18 is in good condition, with some players wear and a hairline crack in the side, which has been glued by our workshop. It has also had a replacement pick guard and a re-fret.
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
