Produced during the mid 1970s, the Aria John Joyce Signature 12 String was built to the specifications of noted English guitarist John Joyce, one of the leading 12 string players of his era. Alongside the contemporary Paul Brett signature models, these guitars were regarded by many players and publications as among the finest acoustic instruments to emerge from Japan during the period.
Stylistically, the model draws clear inspiration from early Oscar Schmidt and Stella style 12 strings, combining vintage influenced design with the strong build quality associated with 1970s Japanese production. Constructed with a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a traditional pyramid bridge, it delivers the rich, chiming character and impressive projection expected from a good 12 string acoustic.
This example is presented in very good condition, with only minor cosmetic wear consistent with its age. A superb playing instrument with plenty of character, it represents excellent value for a vintage Japanese acoustic of this quality.
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
