By 1962, the model had adopted its now familiar round laminated rosewood fingerboard, while retaining many of the features that define the golden era of Stratocaster production. Finished in one of Fender's most desirable custom colours, Fiesta Red has long been amongst the most sought after finishes, with original examples commanding a significant premium and expertly restored guitars offering the same unmistakable vintage aesthetic.
This 1962 Fender Stratocaster has been professionally refinished and sympathetically relic'd in Fiesta Red by renowned refinisher Clive Brown, faithfully recreating the appearance of a factory original custom colour instrument. The original alder body retains the correct period contours, preserved body drying nail holes and paint filled neck pocket, while the maple neck features its original round laminated rosewood fingerboard, August 1962 neck heel stamp and correct spaghetti logo with three patent numbers. The guitar remains highly original throughout, with the correct black bottom pickups with cloth wiring, original matching 1962 dated potentiometers, correct three position CRL switch, orange disc capacitor, mint green three layer pickguard and six saddle bridge. This guitar has been professionally refretted. Expertly restored and wonderfully resonant, this is an outstanding example of an early 1960s Stratocaster that perfectly captures the look, feel and sound of Fender's most celebrated era.
