ZVEX Nano Head

The ZVEX Nano Head is a remarkably compact all tube guitar amplifier delivering 0.5 watts of output from an enclosure small enough to carry in a guitar case. Designed to provide the character and saturation of a much larger valve amplifier at considerably lower volume, the Nano Head is particularly well suited to recording, practice, and situations where high volume is not practical.

The amp uses a 12AX7 preamp tube and 12AU7 power tube, with an internal high voltage supply generating the voltage required for genuine tube operation. A single Volume control takes the amp from clean sounds at lower settings through to increasingly saturated classic rock tones as it is turned up. Despite its modest power rating, the Nano Head can produce surprising volume when connected to a suitable cabinet, with compatibility for 8 to 16 ohm speaker loads.

Its low output power makes it particularly useful for recording, allowing the amplifier and speaker to reach their saturated sweet spot without the extreme sound pressure levels associated with larger valve heads. This makes microphone placement considerably easier while retaining the harmonic character and compression of a fully driven tube amplifier.
