The Palomar Sound Borrego is a character driven reverb inspired by the desert landscape it is named after, balancing familiar spring tones with expansive, experimental ambience. Like the place itself, Borrego moves between grounded and otherworldly, offering a compact reverb that can sit naturally in a mix or drift into unstable, space like textures.

Borrego features two distinct reverb modes. Mode one delivers a classic spring style reverb with a fixed decay that feels immediate, natural, and recognisable. Mode two builds on this foundation by introducing feedback, extending the decay and allowing the reverb to swell, hover, and push toward the edge of oscillation. A global hi cut shapes the top end of the reverb trails across both modes, making it easy to dial in darker, moodier sounds or brighter, splashier textures. As feedback increases in mode two, a subtle modulation emerges, reminiscent of a worn tape mechanism, adding movement and unpredictability to the decay.

Controls are straightforward and performance focused, encouraging experimentation without overcomplication. Borrego is designed to move easily from traditional spring reverb duties into more adventurous ambient territory.
