Developed over many years of careful dissection and distillation of original PAF pickups, to capture the tonal essence synonymous with Seth Lovers original Patent Applied For humbucker design.

Not all PAF’s were created equal, slight differences in resistance, coil balance, and magnetism meant huge sonic variation from one pickup to the next. So you can find very ordinary sounding Patent Applied For humbuckers but when you find a good one it jumps out straight away.

For me the perfect PAF tone has always had the big 3D richness of a humbucker with almost single coil clarity, think telecaster on steroids. This combination makes for a harmonically rich and open tone that responds to your playing style and is way more versatile than you think a vintage output pickup should be.

I have been lucky enough to be able to work on many PAF’s in my time either repairing them or the guitars they are loaded into. All of the PAF pickups I have instantly liked have all had the same combination of magnets, and coil output and balance, and it is this formula that my replica PAF Humbuckers are based on. Designed to create a tone that makes you pick up your guitar and play for hours.
