This custom order 2006 Collings 00042 is a particularly striking example, featuring a beautifully applied Sunburst finish over a premium Adirondack spruce top, paired with East Indian rosewood back and sides. Built to the ornate 42 style specification, it boasts elegant abalone top purfling, intricate pearl fingerboard inlays, ivoroid binding and the refined appointments expected from one of Collings' highest specification models. The 12 fret construction, ebony pyramid bridge and scalloped pre war style bracing combine to produce a rich, responsive voice with exceptional clarity, warmth and projection. Presented in excellent near mint condition and complete with its original Calton case, this is a superb custom instrument from one of the world's finest modern acoustic builders.
