The Gibson Custom Shop Slash Anaconda Les Paul Plain Top is a highly sought-after limited-run signature model, created following Slash’s extensive use of prototype guitars during his 2016 and 2017 tours. Based closely on a Gibson Custom Shop R8 VOS plain top, this model captures the look, feel and tone of Slash’s famed 1958 Les Paul, finished in the distinctive Anaconda Burst nitrocellulose lacquer. Production was limited to just 275 guitars worldwide.
This 2018 example features a solid mahogany body paired with a two piece plain maple top, with a hide glue fitted long tenon neck with a custom Slash taper. A rosewood fingerboard completes the classic late-’50s playing feel. Nickel hardware, an ABR-1 bridge and vintage-style Kluson tuners finish off the vintage inspired aesthetic and construction. Electronics are equally faithful, with Seymour Duncan Slash Signature Alnico II Pro pickups in the neck and bridge, wired with period correct '50s Gibson wiring.
This guitar is in excellent, near unplayed condition, and includes its original Custom Shop case and associated case candy. It even includes the original Gibson shipping box.
As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 1 year warranty.
