First introduced in 1960 as Leo Fender's deluxe bass offering, the Jazz Bass has remained a global stage and studio standard for well over half a century. This 2015 Standard Series model from the Ensenada factory in Mexico perfectly exemplifies why this design is so enduring, combining a sleek, comfortable layout with a punchy, versatile tonal palette.
Sporting a classic, high-gloss Black finish paired with a multi-ply white pickguard, this Jazz Bass carries a striking "tuxedo" aesthetic that looks sharp on any stage. It is equipped with a pair of Fender Standard single-coil pickups wired to the classic dual-volume and master-tone control layout. This arrangement allows you to dial in everything from the growling, mid-heavy bite of the bridge pickup, to a deep, hollow slap scoop when both pickups are balanced.
As shown in the photos, this 2015 example is in excellent condition. It exhibits only light signs of use, minor surface swirling, and faint pick marks consistent with careful handling over the years. The gloss finish on the body retains a brilliant shine, the satin-finished neck is clean and smooth, and the frets show minimal wear.
