The Rickenbacker 360 C63 is one of the company's most faithful recreations of its classic 1960s 360 design, closely associated with the distinctive sound and styling of the British Invasion era. This 2009 example is a particularly rare limited edition produced exclusively for the Japanese market, created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Rickenbacker's Japanese distributor, Shinsedo. Only 60 examples were produced, with 40 in Fireglo and just 20 in Jetglo, making this a notably scarce version of the 360 C63.
This model features a number of vintage inspired specifications that distinguish it from the later 360 V64, including X bracing internally, a vintage style 9 or 9.5 inch fingerboard radius and a more rounded shape to the body horns. The guitar is fitted with a pair of vintage style Scatterwound Toaster Top pickups, measuring approximately 7.4k ohms, along with the distinctive R tailpiece. Other period inspired details include the vintage profile headstock, vintage style tuners, 21 fret fingerboard, full width inlays and red dot markers along the neck binding.
This guitar is presented in very good original condition and has been carefully stored as part of a private collection. It remains complete with its original custom case and Japanese factory issued paperwork, making it an excellent example of this particularly rare Japanese market limited edition.
As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty. This guitar includes its original Rickenbacker case.
