The Gibson J 185 is one of the company's more distinctive small body acoustic designs, offering a compact body size while retaining plenty of volume, projection and low end. The True Vintage series was designed with a much closer eye on Gibson's earlier instruments, and this 2008 example features an Adirondack Red Spruce top rather than the Sitka Spruce more commonly found on modern Gibson acoustics, along with a range of vintage inspired appointments.
The Adirondack top gives the guitar a particularly clear and responsive character, with plenty of headroom when played harder but enough warmth for fingerstyle playing. This guitar is in excellent, very clean condition, with no evidence of any previous repairs, and comes complete with its original Gibson case.
