First introduced in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird was the company's first square shouldered dreadnought, combining bold visual styling with the warm, balanced tone that has made it one of Gibson's most enduring acoustic models. The Historic Collection series faithfully recreates these early instruments, pairing traditional construction methods with premium tonewoods and period correct appointments.

This 2005 Gibson Historic Collection Hummingbird is a superb example, finished in a classic Sunburst and built with a solid Sitka spruce top matched to mahogany back and sides. The mahogany neck is paired with a rosewood fingerboard featuring the distinctive split parallelogram inlays, while cream binding, Grover tuners and the iconic Hummingbird pickguard complete the unmistakable vintage inspired aesthetic. The combination of spruce and mahogany delivers the rich, balanced response for which the Hummingbird is renowned, offering plenty of warmth, clarity and projection whether played with a flatpick or fingerstyle.

This guitar is in excellent, all original condition, with only the most minor signs of play wear and patina to the finish. This guitar also includes its original hard case and paperwork.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
