Introduced as a more affordable take on Martin's classic dreadnought design, the D-1 combines traditional spruce and mahogany construction with a simpler, understated finish. This 1998 example features a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides, finished in a matte rather than gloss finish, giving it a more understated appearance while retaining the familiar character of a Martin dreadnought.
A straightforward, well made acoustic with the projection and balanced response that have made Martin's dreadnoughts such enduring favourites. This guitar is a nice clean example, in very good condition with minimal play wear and no repairs to speak of. Internally and externally original, and includes its original hard case.
As with all our vintage instruments, this 2016 00-28 has been given a full service and appraisal by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
