First introduced in 1960 as Fender’s deluxe bass offering, the Jazz Bass quickly won over musicians with its sleek offset body, ultra-slim neck tapers, and versatile dual-pickup tonal palette. This 1997 "Crafted in Japan" (CIJ) '62 Reissue is a stunning homage to that golden pre-CBS era, flawlessly capturing the timeless aesthetic and snappy, articulate growl that defined generations of bass playing.

Finished in a classic, vibrant 3-Tone Sunburst, this JB62-58 features a beautifully contoured body paired with a striking red tortoiseshell pickguard. It comes equipped with a pair of vintage-style single-coil Jazz Bass pickups wired to the traditional dual-volume, master-tone control layout. This configuration allows you to perfectly blend the punchy, midrange bite of the bridge pickup with the deep, round warmth of the neck, delivering the quintessential "scooped" slap tone or a focused fingerstyle bark that effortlessly cuts through any live mix.

True to original 1962 specifications, the Maple neck features a slim, narrow 38mm nut width that feels incredibly fast and comfortable to play. It is capped with a dark, premium Rosewood fingerboard with vintage-correct 7.25" radius and dot inlays. Finished with vintage-style open-gear reverse tuners and a spiral-saddle bridge, it nails the early-60s vibe in every single detail.

As seen in the photos, this 1997 example is in excellent, honest condition. It shows light surface marks, minor edge wear, and small handling scratches consistent with a carefully played 29-year-old instrument.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 1 year in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
