The Gibson J 100 Xtra was introduced as a refined square shoulder dreadnought, offering a more understated alternative to the ornate J 200 while retaining the same strong low end and stage ready projection Gibson acoustics are known for. Built on a traditional spruce and maple platform, the model delivers a balanced tonal response with plenty of clarity, making it a versatile acoustic suited to both strumming and more detailed fingerstyle work.
This 1996 Gibson J 100 Xtra is finished in Vintage Sunburst and remains in original condition throughout with no repairs or structural work. It retains its distinctive moustache bridge and comes complete with its original brown case. The guitar shows some lacquer checking across the top, consistent with age, but is otherwise very well preserved with only light signs of use.
This guitar is in excellent condition with only very minimal signs of play wear to speak of, and has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
