The first Gibson Flying V models were released in small numbers in 1958, and have become something of a holy grail among guitar collectors. The Flying V has been reissued by Gibson in a variety of styles from the late 1960's onwards. This 1989 Gibson Flying V'90 is a relatively rare example of a small production run Flying V guitar, manufactured by Gibson between 1989 and 1991, aiming to compete with brands like Jackson and Ibanez to become the V of choice for heavy rock and metal guitarists.

This 1989 Gibson Flying V'90 is a great example of these uncommon Gibson guitars. Constructed from a Mahogany body and neck, the neck features an Ebony fret board and has a comfortable slim tapered Gibson neck profile with split parallelogram inlays. This guitar is fitted with the original Bill Lawrence HBL-8 single bridge humbucker, along with the Steinberger tremolo system and kick stand found on these early examples, which would later be replaced by a Gibson manufactured Floyd Rose equivalent. This guitar also includes its original fitted hard case.

This guitar has been given a full service & setup by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
