With a history dating back to 1975, ESP guitars have become one of the leading brands in modern guitar manufacturing, with the instruments produced in their 1980's golden era being seen as some of the best heavy rock and metal orientated guitars ever produced. ESP guitars have graced the stage with artists such as Metallica, Slayer and the Rolling Stones, with a build quality and playability that is second to none.
This 1988 ESP Mirage is a fantastic example of a USA Custom Shop made model, and features a typically unique design. Featuring a finish made from lacquered 1 Dollar bills, this kind of eye catching finish exemplifies what the Custom Shop has become so known for. The Mirage is the companies super strat style guitar, and has been around since the early '80s. Constructed from and Alder body and Maple neck with Ebony board, this guitar is fitted with a custom wound ESP Powerrail in the neck and a ESP LH-500 in the bridge, with a high ouput that is perfect for high gain playing, while retaining plenty of clarity. Other features include a reversed headstock, Floyd Rose style floating tremolo and pearl thumb marker fretboard inlays.
This is one of the rarer instruments produced by ESP, and a real collectors item!
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
