This 1985 Fender Japan ’62 Reissue Telecaster Custom is a great example of an early Japanese made Fender, from a period that has become highly regarded for its excellent build quality and close attention to vintage specification. This guitar is also stamped as an export model in the neck pocket, a designation reportedly used for instruments produced to the highest specification available at the time.
Based on the 1962 Telecaster Custom, this guitar features an alder body finished in vintage 3 Tone Sunburst, complete with the distinctive body binding found on the original Custom models. A pair of single coil pickups provide a bright, articulate vintage voiced sound, while the tinted gloss maple neck has a comfortable slim C profile and traditional four bolt construction. Other features include a three brass saddle bridge and Kluson style tuners.
This guitar is in excellent, original condition, with barely any signs of cosmetic wear to speak of. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
