A cool example from Japan’s golden era of guitar manufacturing, this 1984 Tokai LE36 captures the shift towards high performance electric guitars that defined the mid 1980s. Models like this were Tokai’s answer to the increasingly popular super Strat designs of the period, drawing inspiration from contemporary Fender and Ibanez offerings while retaining the quality and attention to detail Japanese guitars had become known for.
Finished in Candy Apple Red, the LE36 features a contoured double cutaway body, bolt on maple neck, and dual humbucker setup, giving it the look and feel of a classic 1980s Super Strat.
This guitar is in good condition overall, with some play wear and ageing, most notably to the rear of the body. Otherwise, it remains a clean and well preserved example of a lesser seen Tokai model from the height of Japan’s guitar manufacturing boom.
As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 1 year in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
