1984 Boss OD-1 Overdrive

The Boss OD-1 is one of the pedals that helped establish the modern compact overdrive, with its simple controls and distinctive circuit becoming hugely influential on the pedals that followed. Original Japanese made OD-1s have become increasingly sought after, particularly as clean early examples are becoming harder to find.

This 1984 example comes from the later period of original OD-1 production and retains the straightforward character that made the pedal such a classic. It is a great addition to a vintage pedal collection but, more importantly, remains a very usable overdrive for pushing an amplifier or adding some extra grit to an otherwise clean setup. This pedal is supplied without its original box.
