Introduced in 1978 as a deluxe version of the companies flagship ES-335, the Gibson ES-347 was a relatively short live model that has garnered much appreciation since they were discontinued in 1991. This 1982 Gibson ES-347 is a great example of one of these guitars from their early production period, in great condition with a huge amount of tonal versatility.
Like the ES-335, the ES-347 is constructed around a semi hollow Thinline maple body design, with a mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. The guitar is fitted with a pair of T Top humbuckers, along with a coil split switch on the upper horn that allows single coil tones in the bridge position. The hardware was fairly modern for the era, with a TP-6 adjustable tailpiece and roller saddle bridge.
This guitar is in very good condition, with some minor play wear to the rear of the body and neck, and a vibrant sunburst finish. The hardware and electronics are correct and fully functioning, and the guitar includes its original case.
This guitar has benefitted from a service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
