Introduced in 1931, the Martin D-28 has remained one of the most iconic and widely respected dreadnought acoustic guitars ever produced. Revered for its powerful projection, balanced tonal response, and exceptional craftsmanship, the D-28 has been a mainstay of acoustic music for generations, appearing on countless recordings across folk, country, rock, and bluegrass.
This 1978 Martin D-28 is a particularly clean example from the late 1970s, featuring a solid spruce top with two piece Indian rosewood back and sides. The classic dreadnought construction delivers the deep bass response, articulate trebles, and broad dynamic range that have made the D-28 such an enduring favourite among players.
Presented in excellent condition for its age, the guitar shows only light signs of handling and natural ageing, and remains free from any structural repairs. Internally and externally original, it retains the strong, resonant character expected from a well preserved vintage Martin. This D-28 includes its original black hard shell case.
