Introduced in 1972, the second generation Fender Telecaster Thinline combined the lightweight semi hollow ash body of the original with a pair of Seth Lover designed Wide Range Humbuckers, creating one of the most distinctive models of the CBS era. With its fuller, more powerful voice and reduced weight, the Thinline appealed to players looking for something that bridged the gap between a traditional Telecaster and a larger hollowbody instrument. While Natural was by far the most common finish, examples in Mocha Brown are encountered far less often and have become increasingly desirable amongst collectors.

This 1972 Fender Telecaster Thinline is finished in the less commonly seen Mocha Brown and retains many of the features that make these early examples so sought after. The semi hollow body is paired with a maple neck, black pickguard and original pair of Wide Range Humbuckers, delivering the warm yet articulate sound that defines the model. The original 'F' stamped tuners remain in place, while the wiring loom is largely untouched with the exception of a replacement tone potentiometer. The neck has been professionally refretted and the fingerboard refinished with tinted lacquer before being sympathetically aged to blend with the rest of the instrument. Supplied with a non orginal but period correct hard case, this is a characterful and great playing example of one of Fender's most distinctive 1970s designs.
