The Les Paul Custom has been the top of the range Gibson solid body since its introduction in 1954. This 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom is a great example of an early reintroduction Custom, bridging the gap between the very first '68 models, and the more common '70s models. This guitar features a Mahogany / Maple / Mahogany pancake body along with a Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard, with the typically resplendent block inlays and split diamond peghead logo found on all custom models. The tuners and other hardware are all gold, as was the standard for this model. This guitar features a '68 serial number, although the transitional neck tenon and small volute to the rear of the headstock lead us to believe it is from the latter half of 1969.

This guitar is in good condition, with some great authentic play wear and patina from years of playing. The guitar has had some work over the years to ensure it continues to play and sound as it should. The pots have been changed to more modern DiMarzio equivalents, and the original waffle back tuners have been upgraded to Grovers. All other hardware is original, and this guitar also includes a non original case.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
