This 1963 Gibson J-50 is a fine example of one of Gibson’s most beloved slope-shoulder acoustics, capturing the warm, open tone and woody resonance that defined the folk and singer-songwriter scenes of the ’60s.

Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides, this J-50 offers a balanced tone, clear and punchy in the midrange, and sweet top end. The mahogany neck has a comfortable rounded profile, paired with a rosewood fingerboard and 24.75" scale length.

A distinctive feature of this era is the factory original plastic adjustable bridge, introduced by Gibson in the early ’60s. While controversial among purists, it was standard at the time and contributes to the dry, thumpy tone many vintage Gibson fans love. This guitar remains in good, original condition, showing honest playwear but no major repairs or modifications. Includes the original gator skin Gibson case.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
