The Gibson ES 330 was introduced in 1959 as the successor to the earlier ES 225, offering players a fully hollow electric design that quickly established its own distinctive voice. While often living in the shadow of the centre block ES 335, the ES 330 has since become one of Gibson’s most characterful vintage models, prized for its lightweight construction, lively resonance and unmistakable tonal character.

This 1961 example is an excellent guitar, finished in classic Cherry. Without a centre block, the ES 330 delivers an exceptionally open and resonant response, blending the warmth of a hollow body with the clarity and bite of its original P90 pickups. Clean tones are rich, articulate and full of acoustic character, while overdriven sounds produce the raw, expressive voice that has made early ES 330s a favourite among blues, rock and indie players alike. The original pickups and electronics remain untouched, preserving the guitar’s authentic sound and feel exactly as it left the factory. Readable pot codes show 134 6103, dating them to the early part of 1961.

This guitar is in excellent original condition, displaying the honest play wear and lacquer checking expected of a well cared for vintage Gibson. It is internally and externally original, and is repair free, with no finish touch up. The original yellow lined case is included, in fair condition.

As with all vintage instruments, this 1961 Gibson ES-330 has been given a full service and appraisal by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
