Since their introduction in 1954, the Gibson Les Paul Junior has been the epitome of a stripped back solid body guitar, with the focus purely on a great sound and unmatched playability. Despite the lack of tonal options, these guitars are incredibly versatile, and have found their way in to the hand of many players across a range of styles. This 1955 Gibson Les Paul Junior is a fantastic example of a Junior from this period.
Featuring a slab Mahogany body finished in a Sunburst lacquer, this guitar is in very good condition, with a level of wear and patina that shows that it has been well played and well loved over the years. The original dog ear P90 pickup packs a punch and has some serious bite when you dig in with a pick. This guitar has a replacement Gotoh wraparound bridge, though the posts are original. The electronics and wiring are original, with the original C-D grey tiger capacitor present and correct, along with Centralab and IRC pots that date to the 48th & 20th week of 1954 respectively. The original 'No Line' Kluson tuners are present and fully functional, with the buttons showing a minor amount of ageing. The pickguard and amber speed knobs are correct, and this guitar includes a non original Gibson hard case.
As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
