Introduced in 1953, the Fender Stringmaster was a range of console steel guitars produced by Fender until the end of the 1970s. These early models are a great snapshot of Fenders formative years, with this 1953 Stringmaster hailing from the first production year, with specifications only found in '53. The Ash body features a brown stain finish, and is fitted with the chrome covered single coil pickups found on 1953 models. As opposed to the designated blend control found on later models, the pickups on each of the 8 string necks are blended with the tone control. This model also features the longer 26" scale length found only in 1953.
