Dobro resonators have long been regarded as some of the finest resonator instruments produced, and along with National have become synonymous with quality resonator instruments for nearly 100 years. This 1937 Dobro Model 45 square neck is a great example of an early California built 12 fret Dobro, with the model being one of the companies professional wood body guitars at the time. This example features the saw-cut slot headstock design found on early versions of this instrument, before production was moved to the Regal factory. This single spider cone resonator features a natural spruce top with bound mahogany ply body and a tobacco sunburst finish to the rear, along with a solid mahogany square neck design. The single cone has a warm and responsive output with plenty of volume, and is perfect for slide blues and bluegrass playing.
This guitar is in good condition, with plenty of play wear accrued over the years. It has previously had a neck reset and new saddle fitted, and is currently set up with a high nut for square neck slide playing.
As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 2 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty. Get an additional 3 years workshop warranty cover with the No.Tom Guitars Extended Warranty.
