The ThorpyFX Pulse Doppler Phaser & Vibrato is yet another excellent creation from Adrian Thorpe and Dan Coggins, formerly of Lovetone and now a full blown member of the team at ThorpyFX. The Pulse Doppler is a fully analog Phaser, and in many ways an updated version of the old Lovetone Doppelganger, taking all that was great about the unique features of that much sought after Lovetone pedal, and streamlining both the size of the pedal and greatly improving its usability. It was designed from the ground up to be the most versatile phaser on the market, offering an unparalleled feature set in the world of analog phaser pedals.
Tonally, the Pulse Doppler offers an incredibly flexible range of sounds. The Rate controls has a wide sweep, moving from slow, psychedelic warbles to choppy modulation and everything in between. The Depth and Manual controls work in tandem to fine tune the intensity of the Phase modulation, and offer a lot of room for experimentation. The Enhance control adds resonance to the phase signal, and again can be used interactively with the other settings, while the blend allows you to fine tune the balance between the wet and dry signal. The two toggle switches and two footswitches allow you to alter the phase inversion between the wet and dry signals, further adding to the versatility. The Pulse Doppler prioritises simplicity while encompassing a huge range of tonal options. For stereo pedal enthusiasts, they will be pleased to know that the Pulse Doppler has both dry and wet outputs, allowing you to run it as part of a traditional pedalboard or as part of a stereo set up. The Pulse Doppler is truly one of the most all encompassing vintage voiced Phaser and Vibrato pedals on the market. As with all ThorpyFX pedals, the premium sound is enhanced through the use of premium components all wrapped in a beautiful custom engineered wedge enclosure.
