The Conflict of Interest from Fairfield Circuitry is a versatile envelope follower and generator pedal that provides expressive control voltage for pedals and synth modules. Unlike typical guitar pedals, it doesn't alter the input signal's sound. Instead, it uses the signal's amplitude to generate an envelope shape, controlling parameters on other devices.
With multiple modes and extensive interactive potential, Conflict of Interest enhances any CV-capable setup, adding new dimensions of performative control. The pedal generates envelopes by using the input signal's amplitude to trigger an attack/decay envelope, with sensitivity adjusted via the Sens control. Envelopes can also be triggered manually or through a gate input, each mode offering distinct behavior.
Mode 1 is a gated loop, triggering a looping envelope or LFO. Mode 2 provides classic one-shot envelope operation. Mode 3 continuously loops the envelope, interrupted by a gate, button press, or input signal movement. Each mode allows adjustment of envelope level, attack time, release time, and polarity using the panel controls.
