The Martin RM50 Ralph McTell signature guitar is one of the more unusual artist models produced by the company. The story goes that Ralph McTell approached Gibson to create a signature model of the Gibson J-50 used throughout his career, who decided against the idea. Following a meeting with Martin, the RM50 was born - a unique Martin take on the classic slope shouldered J-50 guitar, with a limited run of only 50 instruments being produced. This 2018 Martin RM50 Ralph McTell is #22 of the production run, and is in exceptional condition.

The RM50 features a solid Adirondack spruce top that resonates with unparalleled clarity and projection. Its back and sides are crafted from solid mahogany, delivering warm and balanced tones with exceptional depth. The scalloped X-bracing enhances the guitar's responsiveness, with great dynamics when finger and flat picked.

Designed in collaboration with Ralph McTell, this signature model features a lightly aged toner for the soundboard, along with Style 28 fretboard inlays and the traditional Gibson round shoulder design. The modified low oval neck profile is comfortable and easy to play, and the guitar is finished off with an East Indian rosewood bridge, fingerboard and head plate.

This guitar is in excellent condition, with almost no signs of play wear to speak of. This guitar includes its original case. As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
