Larson Brothers guitars have a certain amount of folklore around them in the vintage guitar world. The original instruments were manufactured in Chicago with models like the Maurer, Euphonon and Stetson being used by countless blues musicians around the Midwest, and vintage examples becoming more sought after by collectors in recent years. This 2015 Larson Brothers OM Maurer is a great example of one of the more recent reissues of these guitars, manufactured jointly by Furch and Dupont Guitars in France.
This 2015 OM Maurer seeks to replicate the style and tone of the original pre war models, while utilising modern guitar building practices. Constructed from a Spruce top with Rosewood back and sides, the OM body shape gives the Maurer a particularly dynamic and responsive tone, with plenty of projection and defined bass, middle and treble frequency ranges that make it perfect for finger style playing. The neck features a soft 'V' profile that is vintage inspired and comfortable in the hand, along with the slotted headstock design and pearl inlaid Larson Brothers logo. Other features include custom pearloid fret board inlay, a vintage style bridge and multi-ply neck and body binding.
