The Gibson Les Paul Junior has been tied to punk rock from the 1970's onwards, when as relatively affordable guitars, their direct, punchy tone became a key ingredient in the sound of the genre as a whole. In recent times, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong has become particularly associated with the Les Paul Junior, and this Gibson signature is a fitting tribute to the musician and the guitar.
Modelled on one of Armstrong's own 1956 models, this 2009 Billie Joe Amrstrong Les Paul Junior features a slab mahogany body finished in a Classic White lacquer, which has already begun to age and slightly yellow in the last 10 years. The body is fitted with a Gibson custom wound H90, featuring a double coil design that gives you P90 tones with the hum cancelling of a humbucker. The neck features a '60s slim taper profile as opposed to the chunkier '50s feel you would expect from a vintage Les Paul Junior, and an Ebony fretboard. Other features include a vintage style wraparound bridge, Kluson style tuners with white plastic buttons, and single ply black pickguard. This guitar also includes it original leopard print lined case.
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
