The Style 21 Martin guitar has existed in various forms since 1869, with the steel string flat top models introduced in the late 1930's, although most often seen in the smaller 00 or 000 body sizes. This 2008 Martin D-21 Special takes influence from the style of those early guitars, and epitomises the versatility of a Martin guitar.
Constructed from a Sitka Spruce top with aged toner and East Indian Rosewood back and sides, this D-21 Special is lightly built and features forward shifted scalloped X bracing, making for an extremely resonant and dynamic instrument. With a supremely balanced response across the frequency range, this guitar is a real workhorse, and is equally at home with nuanced finger picking styles as it is for big, open chord strumming.
Vintage inspired features include a pyramid ebony bridge, celluloid style pickguard and open gear tuners. This guitar also includes its original Martin case.
As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
