The Gibson SJ-200 has been one of the most recognisable guitars throughout music history, having been used by countless players across a number of genres. It's signature sound and style make it a go to for guitarists who want projection, balance and plenty of tone. This 2005 Gibson SJ-200 'Historic' series is a fine example of a Montana made Gibson flat top.
Constructed from a Spruce top and beautifully flamed Maple back and sides, this SJ-200 has a bright tone with plenty of clarity and volume thanks to the larger body design. The Maple neck features a Rosewood board with a comfortable rounded neck profile, with traditional pearl fret inlays and crown headstock inlay. The pick guard design is another signature feature of the SJ-200, with an elegant engraved flower design on the celluloid guard. As part of the 'Historic' series at the time, these guitars drew on their '50s counterparts for inspiration, with features including the pearl inlaid moustache bridge, gold single ring Kluson style tuners, and its original Gibson case. This guitar has also been fitted with an L.R.Baggs Element pickup system.
This guitar is in very good condition with a few minor signs of play wear and lacquer checking to speak of, and has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
