The Martin D-45 was first introduced in 1933, and has remained the most deluxe, resplendent model in the Martin lineup ever since. This 2003 Martin D-45 VS retains the styling of those vintage models with extra attention to detail and vintage specifications.
Constructed from a Sitka Spruce top with East Indian Rosewood back and sides, this D-45 features the forward shifted scalloped bracing that makes early Martin guitars particularly resonant and responsive. The Spruce and Rosewood pairing offers a supremely balanced response across the frequency range, making it perfect for nuanced fingerstyle playing and big open chords alike.
Vintage inspired features include an ebony belly down bridge, celluloid style pickguard, along with the abalone top binding and rosette, snowflake fretboard inlays and gold hardware that are unique to the D-45 model. Other vintage specs include aged lacquer toner applied to the soundboard, open gear tuners, and a fuller feeling neck profile.
This guitar is in very good condition, with only minor signs of play wear and patina to the top and back. This guitar also includes its original case. As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
