The Gibson Sheryl Crow Signature Country Western was introduced in 1999 as a faithful tribute to Crow’s long-time stage and studio favourite, the early 1960s Country Western. Designed in collaboration with Crow, the model aimed to capture the warm, balanced response and lively acoustic character of her own post '62 square shoulder Country Western. This run was built by the Gibson Montana luthiers in a limited run of 800 instruments, each hand signed by Sheryl Crow. This 2001 example is number 408 and represents the model at its best, offering an authentic blend of period correct specification and high quality modern craftsmanship.
The guitar follows the classic Country Western formula, using a Sitka Spruce top paired with Mahogany back and sides for a rounded tonal profile with a pronounced midrange and plenty of projection. The hand scalloped X bracing mirrors 1960s construction, helping deliver an open, responsive character. The Mahogany neck is carved to a comfortable rounded profile, topped with a Rosewood fingerboard and traditional split parallelogram inlays. A Rosewood bridge, multi ply top binding, and 3 point pickguard maintain the vintage styling. This guitar is also fitted with a piezo pickup.
This guitar is in excellent condition, with only the most minor signs of any play wear, and includes its original case and Gibson warranty card. The guitar is in original condition and has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
