Warm, balanced, and steeped in Gibson heritage, the 1998 Gibson ’62 Reissue J-45 is a faithful recreation of one of the most beloved slope-shoulder acoustics ever produced. Built in Gibson’s Bozeman, Montana facility, this model captures the character and craftsmanship of the early-1960s J-45 while offering the reliability of Montana-factory construction.
Known as the “workhorse” of the Gibson acoustic line, the J-45 has long been prized for its rich, balanced voice and effortless versatility. Pairing a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides, producing the warm low-end thump, strong midrange presence, and smooth high-end response that have made the model a staple for generations of players.
This Montana made '62 reissue J45 is in good original condition, with some signs of lacquer checking and players wear. It also includes a fisherman sound hole pickup.
As with all our guitars, it has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
