Japanese made Fender instruments have long been the go-to for musicians looking for guitars with vintage Fender tone and style that won't cost as much as their USA made counterparts. Guitars made by Fender Japan in the '80s & '90s have become somewhat collectible in their own right, with an amazing build quality for the price.
This 1988 Fender Contemporary Jazz Bass is a great example of this period of Japanese production, constructed from a two piece alder body with quilted maple top and orange burst finish. The body is fitted with a set of active Jazz Bass pickups, giving a more powerful output than passive pickups would, along with great definition in the low, mid and high frequencies.
This guitar is in very good, original condition, with only minor signs of play wear. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
