Founded in the mid-1960s, Greco rose to prominence during Japan’s golden age of guitar production, building instruments that closely mirrored their American counterparts while often matching them in quality and attention to detail. By the 1980s, Greco’s acclaimed 'Mint Collection' had refined these designs even further, earning a lasting reputation for superb craftsmanship and authentic vintage character at a far more accessible price.
This 1989 Greco EGC-600 from the 'Mint Collection' exemplifies the brand’s late-’80s mastery of the Les Paul Custom style. Built at the renowned FujiGen Gakki factory, it features a solid mahogany body with a carved maple top, a mahogany neck, and a bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. Fitted with a pair of Greco Screamin’ humbuckers, and finished with gold hardware, multi-ply binding, and the classic open-book headstock, this EGC-600 perfectly captures the elegance and feel of a true vintage custom through the lens of Japanese precision craftsmanship.
