During the late '80s and early '90s, Guild attempted to overhaul their acoustic guitar range in an effort to get back to the kind of quality and craftsmanship associated with their '50s and '60s heyday. The company enlisted the help of famed vintage guitar dealer and expert George Gruhn to consult on vintage guild guitars, and how best to recapture that sound and feel. This 1987 Guild GF-50 is a great example of one such guitar from the first production year. With a 16" lower bout and tighter waist, this guitar features a Sitka Spruce top with Rosewood back and sides and a Cherry Sunburst finish.

These guitars are exceptionally good value for money, and are some of the finest acoustic guitars Guild have produced in their recent history, with lighter scalloped bracing and thinner tops woods offering an extremely resonant sound that is true to Guilds heritage.

This guitar is in excellent condition, and looks to have barely been played, with very few signs of wear to speak of. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
