Japanese made Fender instruments have long been the go-to for musicians looking for guitars with vintage Fender tone and style that won't cost as much as their USA made counterparts. Guitars made by Fender Japan in the '80s & '90s have become somewhat collectible in their own right, with an amazing build quality for the price. This 1983 Squier Stratocaster is one of the first run of 'JV' serial numbers FujiGen Factory made guitars. The original series featured 1962 & 1957 reissue models, with this guitar being an excellent example of the former, with a tinted gloss lacquer maple neck and slab rosewood fingerboard, a period correct 3 tone sunburst and three ply white guard. The neck profile is a comfortable 'C' shape, with shoulders that fill out slightly as you move up the neck. The body is fitted with a set of vintage style single coil pickups that perfectly recreate the presence and chime of a vintage Stratocaster.
This guitar is in excellent, original condition, with only the most minor signs of play wear to speak of. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
